I’VE JUST LOST MY JOB… WHAT SHOULD I DO?

by Deborah Knox on October 11, 2011

If you’re at the beginning of your transition you’ll want to pay attention to the feelings associating with “endings.” The feelings often associated with this phase are those of anger, shock, sometimes even betrayal…”how could this have happened to me? (See previous post for signs)

If at all possible this is a good time, to vent all the negative feelings you’ve had about the job, the people you worked with, and the mediocre rewards you got. Let all the negatives off your chest and then see how you’re feeling.

I remember when I lost my last (and only job) the mixed feelings of invigoration and despair.  The key for me as I look back is to have worked more on releasing the negative feelings. That will help get the place out of your system. Then, you can think about moving forward. But cry if you must, rannt and rave, but know that you will move on.
