by Deborah Knox on June 19, 2012

Poets, dancers, psychologists and philosophers talk about the value of finding meaningful work that allows the full expression of who we really are.  This tool – answering the question “Is this the Path for you?” is designed to separate the seekers from the doers. I am looking to assist those of you who will not settle for less than the desired goal of finding true career happiness.

The DESIRE to find meaningful work that we love can be fulfilled. My first encounter with the concept of Lifework is defined by the dancer Martha Graham as “a vitality, a life-force, a quickening that is translated through you into action.” I had this quote on my business card and I still have the original design depicting that as part of my current business logo.

James Hillman in The Souls’ Code talks about the blueprint within each of us that exists as a seed within the acorn which ultimately becomes the living oak tree. Learn to listen to the clues within that will guide you to discover the unique blueprint that is within you.

And in the words of a theologian “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”  You want your work to do both! The more you want it the more likely you will be to discover it. To learn more about finding your career path, go to www.lifeworktransitions.com
